" Volunteers from across Canada and around the world gathered in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia to celebrate, to remember, to be inspired and encouraged by what our Heavenly Father has accomplished and multiplied since 1993 as HOPE worldwide Canada celebrated 30 years as a registered Canadian non-profit!

HOPE worldwide Canada was established as a registered non-profit in Canada in 1993 and from our humble beginnings with one program in Toronto in 1993, we have seen that initial mustard seed that was planted grow and multiply into:

• Thirteen HOPE worldwide Canada Chapters in cities from coast to coast across Canada, serving and positively impacting the lives of over 8,000 of our neighbours each year in their local communities…
• Support for vital empowerment and community strengthening programs in a dozen countries around the world, including Ukraine, Haiti, Nepal and the Philippines…
• The privilege of seeing dozens of our volunteers go and serve internationally as they partner alongside and learn from our global neighbours on HOPE worldwide Volunteer Corps over the years

Our theme for this years celebration was, “Inspiring greater hope”, as we reflected on what God has multiplied over the past 30 years and dreamt about what He can do over the next 30 years and beyond!

And our prayers were answered in a tremendous way as we all so inspired!

• Terri Loso, a HOPE worldwide volunteer led us in an interactive workshop on “Respect and Relationships” that focussed on key ideas to equip us to better serve our neighbours like Jesus
• Volunteer Chapter Directors from all over Canada did an incredible job sharing about their local programs and what they are doing in our communities to help serve and love…
• Nadine Templer shared about the amazing HOPE worldwide programs in Nepal that we are privileged to support as well as HOPE worldwide Volunteer Corps.
• One of the highlights was definitely our “NOW Generation” Panel sharing and discussing what serving like Jesus means to the faith and lives of our future generations.
• Saturday evening, we held an awards celebration dinner as we thanked several of our community partners (Canada Blood Services, Dress for Success Canada, TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, the Halifax Sunday Supper program and others who were not able to attend in person) as well as honoured several of our volunteers for their service, including recognizing Anne Du Sault with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for her exemplar service over the years as she steps down from leading the Montreal Chapter and later this year, from our Board of Directors.
• Worship on Sunday with the Halifax-Dartmouth Church of Christ was so encouraging as we heard from several of our volunteers as they shared about how they “Encounter God through Acts of Service”; with our service being followed by a sumptuous Pot Luck lunch
• And to top it off, we had beautiful Nova Scotian summer weather all weekend long…

We share all this to inform you about what was a very special weekend and to say “thank you” for your support of our volunteers and our ministry.
