This Sunday, August 17th, we'll be meeting at Lower Hume Park at 11:00am for a worship service followed by potluck lunch. Come join us! Mark Kang will be preaching.

Baptisms!
Patrick's Baptism!!
We'll be having a baptism for Patrick from campus right after church on Sunday August 17th at 1pm at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park (see map below)
Joshua Hammer's Baptism!!
Join us to witness the baptism of Mike and Kathleen's son Joshua. He has been studying the Bible for several months and has decided to become a follower of Jesus. Praise be to God for continuing to work in the hearts of our teens!

The Kangs have arrived!
Our new church leaders Mark and Ruth Kang, along with their son Bryce, have arrived in Vancouver. They are busy setting up and working on all of the logistics involved in moving from the States, so please pray for them as they settle in.
Welcome Party - August 23rd 5:00pm-8:00pm
The Kangs are looking forward to getting to know all of us at a "Come and Go" Welcome Party planned for next Saturday August 23rd from 5:00pm-8:00pm, at their new house on Ramsay Ave, Burnaby (address will be sent out with sign-up sheet). Due to limited space for parking and a lot of people who would like to visit, our summer interns Amber or Tamara will be working with the house church leaders to sign people up for different time slots, so stay tuned.
VCOC Men's Retreat 2025 - "Iron - Forged by God, Sharpened Together"
This year we have our very own Mark Kang, who will be speaking. Our theme is "Iron - Forged by God, Sharpened Together" - Let's gather as brothers to forge new relationships and strengthen old ones as we are molded by God into the likeness of Jesus.
Dates: September 26-28, 2025
Location: The Last Resort, Manning Park BC

Cost: $150 Early Bird, ends Sept 7th - then cost goes up to $175.

Prayer Requests
From Louise Grant: "We had a note from Hazel & Roberto Duran today. They were with us in Vancouver & in Ontario & California prior to that. They moved back to California a couple of years ago for a work opportunity. They live in California and are supported by the Valley church they attend now but they would appreciate our prayers also.
Roberto is having surgery this Friday to remove a brain tumour. Hazel rushed to get home to Roberto after his diagnosis but was injured in a bad car accident. She is now post surgery & recovering from complications & starting physio. Your prayers for both of their recoveries would be appreciated.
From Xochitl: "Hello everyone. I with my humble heart wanted to ask for prayer for one of my best friends and mom of 2 beautiful children. Her name is Betty and she lives in Las Vegas… se is dealing with an aggressive breast cancer and her condition is insure, I only know that she is not responding my calls and she has been depressed, it a lot of the things she is been dealing with. Thank you.

- Please continue to pray for the brothers and sisters and all the men, women and children impacted by the wars in Ukraine, in Gaza / Israel, and in Sudan
- Please continue to pray for Dave Zayonc who has a brain tumour
- Please continue to pray for Cynthia for healing from heart surgery
