“Do You Still Not Understand?”
Come on guys! Do you really think Jesus is concerned that you only brought
one loaf of bread with you? With Jesus, one loaf is enough! Bring him what
you have and he’ll give you what you need! Stop worrying and listen!
I’ve been going through one of those times in my life recently where I’ve been battling a lot of
anxiety. I’ve been been playing “What If...” scenarios in my mind over and over again and with each
viewing my anxiety level rises. I guess I’m really no different than the disciples here; I still don’t
understand. I can look back on ways that I’ve seen God work through some of the most difficult
and challenging circumstances to date in my life and brought about great personal growth and
impact on others. But these are not the mental videos that I have been replaying. It’s no wonder
that I’ve been worried and upset about many things.
Like Peter, I believe that Jesus is the Christ and yet at the same time I have times when through
Satan’s influence I “do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men”. I want the
blessings of being a Christian, but I don’t want to deny myself and take up my cross. Today I needed
Jesus to question my faith and challenge my worldliness. How about you?
• Questions to Consider: At this moment in your life do you understand that if you bring Jesus
what you have he will give you what you need? Are you willing to deny yourself and take up your
cross in order to follow Jesus today no matter what that means or where that leads?
